Product Testing Manager

ABOUT THE JOB

The role will involve working closely with various other functions (quality, design engineering, marketing, product, purchasing and production) to develop and agree product test specifications and then to ensure that these specifications are met in terms of performance, cost, timescales and reliability.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

Applicants should have a degree or an equivalent qualification in Electronics, Physics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related engineering discipline and have relevant experience of design & development of both new & existing products. Applicants should also have experience working with electronic products and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Product Testing Manager will lead the engineering test team ensuring that all new and existing products are optimised in line with objectives on quality, reliability, functionality and cost. To help develop and design electronic and mechanical tests ensuring these are carried out to a high level of accuracy providing in-depth results from which meaningful conclusions can be drawn. This will all be achieved while contributing to the design of new products in all Whale markets.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Be enthusiastic and keen to work as part of a team.
  • Degree level or above in an appropriate engineering discipline.
  • Have a good working knowledge of electronic products preferably hardware testing.
  • Have good working experience of new product development.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, strive for excellence, ability to critically analyse and demonstrate thoroughness in all they do.
  • Display strong interpersonal skills at all levels.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience of working in a project environment.
  • Experience of project management.
  • Knowledge of electronic hardware design.
  • Knowledge and experience of PCB manufacture and EMC testing.
  • Be hands-on with good practical skills .
  • Have a logical approach to problem solving.
