A Time For Celebration

This month Whale employees, both past and present, came together to celebrate the retirement of three colleagues, namely Alan Rodgers, Ernie Hall and Graham Mawhinney. Everyone there also congratulated Hilary McCullough on her 25th anniversary with the company. In appreciation of their efforts over the years Patrick Hurst, Whale's MD, gave a speech which was followed by both company & staff presentations and then by a buffet lunch. To mark the occasion Hilary put pen to paper...

Ode from Hilary

To all of my colleagues old and new, this is a poem I've written for you:

From Bill Hunter the original foreman

To Alan Rodgers his second in command

They kept a very happy band.

Big Dorothy and Marie, Marie McCullough, Shaz, Celia, Margaret and Joanne, to Martine and

Robert to name but a few and not forgetting the Golden Girl Crew (Molly, Liz, Carol & Margaret).

Kate and Liz in the office beavering away to ensure the workforce are happy at play.

So folks what I'm really trying to say, there have been wonderful memories along the way.

Because working alongside good people like you, has been a privilege for me, and I hope for you too.

And last but by no means least, like the three wise men that came from the east

Directors Wesley, Stanley & Patrick

A toast to the skippers of our wee crew.
