#Sweaters4Simon @Whale

On Thursday 13th December Whale held a Christmas Jumper Day in aid of The Simon Community NI.The Simon Community are Northern Irelands largest homeless charity, they work without judgement to support people who are experiencing or are at risk of homelessness. The charity supports around 3,000 people throughout the year from all walks of life who find themselves without a home.

The #Sweaters4Simon event was held in the W1 canteen and all members of staff were encouraged to put on their best, or in some cases their worst, Christmas Jumper and gather together for some refreshments and entertainment.

On the day we also ran a heavily competitive ‘Best Dressed’ Competition which was won by Catherine Dynes, an engineering student on her placement year, and a part-time Elf.  Other activities included an exciting Christmas Crossword Puzzle and the highlight of the event, some festive carol singing. A special mention to Catherine and Robert for providing the piano and guitar musical accompaniment and to all the colleagues who sang for us.

The event raised an amazing £500 which was presented to a representative of the charity and will go towards aiding their efforts especially during this challenging festive period.  A huge THANK YOU to everyone for getting in to the festive spirit and taking part in #Sweaters4Simon.
